22 Papers Published by Khalifa University Indicate High-Quality Research in Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Physical Sciences Ģż

Khalifa University has announced it is ranked top in the UAE and second among Arab institutions in terms of research output by the latest Nature Index 2021 Ranking. With a total of 22 research papers, and a ā€˜shareā€™ of (6.53), Khalifa University remains ahead of all other contenders in the UAE.Ģż

Among the Arab institutions, Khalifa University jumped seven places to become the second in the Nature Index 2021 ranking for research.

Khalifa University has a total of 11 research papers in Earth and Environmental Sciences, 9 in Physical Sciences and 4 in Chemistry, for the 1 May 2020 – 1 April 2021 assessment period. The UAE, as a country, had a total of 122 research papers from 10 institutions.

The Nature Index is a database of author affiliations and institutional relationships. It is an indicator of high-quality research in the Natural and Physical Sciences, including Chemistry, Life Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Physical Sciences. The Index tracks contributions to research articles published in 82 high-quality natural-science journals, chosen by an independent group of researchers. The latest rankings were based on the Nature Index data from 1 May 2020 – 1 April 2021.Ģż

New Ranking Indicates Emphasis on Locally and Globally-Relevant Research, World-Class Faculty Experts and Quality Education Ģż

Khalifa University has announced that it is top-ranked in the UAE and has remained among the top 10 out of 125 Arab institutions in the 2021 Times Higher Education (THE) Arab Universities Ranking that was announced at the THE Arab Universities Forum.

Khalifa University ranked sixth overall in the THE list that assessed universities from 14 Arab countries. The ranking is THEā€™s most comprehensive assessment of higher education in the Arab region to date.

The methodology behind the Arab ranking is based on the same framework as the global table, but some adjustments have been made and some new metrics have been included to reflect the features and missions of universities in the Arab region. There are regional measures on reputation and collaboration as well as metrics related to social impact.

The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry income (knowledge transfer).

THE University Ranking Forum: Arab University Rankings 2021 also featured the launch of the inaugural THE Arab University Rankings. Leaders and managers from institutions across the Arab World convened for the one-day forum to reconsider performance and to examine how measuring university impact can provide a framework for building and enhancing reputation.

Khalifa University of Science and technology and the Times Higher Education (THE) today announced they will host prominent global universities for the THE Asia Universities Summit 2019 in Abu Dhabi.

The Middle Eastā€™s first-ever THE Asia Universities Summit 2019 themed ā€˜Connecting Asia,Reaching Westā€™, will be held from 30 April – 2 May 2019 in Abu Dhabi. The summit will include the launch of THE Asia University Rankings 2019 during a gala dinner at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi on 1 May. Moreover, the inaugural THE Awards Asia will also honor select universities for their track-record in five different categories during the dinner event.

In addition to Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, UAE, who will offer a keynote during the inauguration of the THE Asia Universities Summit 2019, other notable speakers include presidents and higher officials of Asiaā€™s best universities with high academic ranking such as Tsinghua University,
China, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Korea Advanced Institute for Science and Technology. Other key speakers from Khalifa University, the UAE Ministry of Education and THE will also offer their perspectives at the official inauguration of the THE Asia Universities Summit 2019.

The THE Asia Universities Summit 2019 aims to highlight the importance of inter-Asian partnerships as the vital networks of the era. It aims to unite leaders of Asiaā€™s best institutions with industry executives, policymakers and star researchers for three days of debate and discussion that will address challenges and frame the agenda for growth. The focus will be on the way universities can stay equipped and relevant for the pace of change in an age when research exchange is based increasingly on industry growth.
