Biography

Dr. Shanavas Shajahan is a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow specializing in developing advanced materials, including graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) composites for multifunctional applications. He currently focuses on producing, characterizing, and commercializing graphene-enhanced products. With a Ph.D. in Physics from Periyar University, India, Dr. Shanavas has an extensive academic background in advanced materials science, energy and environmental applications. As a visiting researcher at the Universidad de Santiago, Chile, he contributed to developing advanced metal oxides with metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), expanding his expertise in energy storage. Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to academia and industry, publishing 88 research articles in high-impact journals with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 340, achieving an h-index of 24, and garnering nearly 1,900 citations. Dr. Shanavas has hands-on expertise in various analytical instruments, including AFM, Raman Spectroscopy, XPS, and advanced electron microscopy. He has also developed materials fabrication and testing devices, with several intellectual property filed and filings in progress. His work includes supervising graduate research, managing funded projects, and fostering collaborations with industrial partners. Dr. Shanavas is an active member of the Materials Research Society and a dedicated peer reviewer for over 26 prestigious international journals. His numerous accolades include awards for best research presentations at international and national conferences and fellowship awards for research excellence. Driven by a passion for innovation, sustainability, and practical solutions, Dr. Shanavas continues to advance nanotechnology and materials science, addressing critical challenges in the energy, environmental, and aerospace industries.
