Dr. Wa毛l Kanoun is currently Regional Director of Cyber Technologies at Thales Middle East.聽 With 20+ years of experience in Cybersecurity and leading cross-functional teams, Wa毛l brings extensive knowledge in Strategy, M&A, Innovation, R&D, Operations and Technical to the forefront in driving operational excellence. Previously, Wa毛l held the positions of Technical Director at Thales and Head of Cyber R&D at Nokia Bell Labs. He successfully established and delivered business, technology, innovation, and development strategies.
His experience spans across critical sectors such as ground transportation, aerospace, defense, government, telecom, utilities, and energy, etc. His work is extensively published (20+) in peer-reviewed international conferences and journals, and led to 10+ patent applications. He has served on review committees of international conferences and journals, and has lectured in French Universities and Graduate Schools. He holds a PhD and Master degrees in Information & Cyber security from Telecom Bretagne, France.
